Michael Stepner, FAIA, FAICP, served as San Diego City Architect from 1988 to 1992 and later for the San Diego Economic Development Corporation as director of planning and housing.

HOWARD SMITH

Howard Smith is the founder and CEO of Globascope LLC, a social entrepreneurial company based in California. Howard is an independent inventor and the inventor of Indexpen, a versatile and unique writing instrument that is set to revolutionize the way humans write with pen.
Howard is also the founder and CEO of Dokua Smith Foundation a 501 (c3) non profit organization with interest in education of Refugee children in San Diego.
Howard grew up in Ghana West Africa surrounded by diplomats with the most recent siblings one serving as Ghana Ambassador to the USA and another serving as Ghana Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Prior to the founding of Global scope, Howard spent more than 30 years as a software engineer and an IBM business partner. Howard has a wide experience in collaborative international negotiations.
Howard obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information Technology and MBA in Global Business from the University of Redlands. He holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate and will complete (2019) an MA degree in Peace and Justice from the University of San Diego Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
Howard volunteers for multiple non-profit organizations in San Diego including Sand Diego Futures Foundation where he is a Senior Tech Ambassador and United Nations Association San Diego (UNA-SD) as a board member.
Howard was recently the Interim Executive Director at Refugee net, an Episcopal church nonprofit outreach charitable organization based in San Diego.
